CANCELLATION POLICY

  • All cancellations and requests for refunds must be made in writing to the Karst Hazards Forum Committee Chair. Verbal requests will not be accepted. Refunds may be issued 4-6 weeks after the close of the meeting.

  • For cancellations received at least 30 days prior to the start of the Virtual Karst Hazards Forum a $25 processing fee will be applied.

  • A 50% refund will be issued for cancellations received between 15 and 30 days prior to the start of the Virtual Karst Hazards Forum.

  • No refunds will be issued within 15 days of the start of the Virtual Karst Hazards Forum.  Special consideration will be given for verifiable personal and medical emergencies.

VIRTUAL MEETING CODE OF CONDUCT

  • The Association of Environmental & Engineering Geologists (AEG) is committed to providing a professional, friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all participants at its meetings, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, race, ethnicity, religion, national origin or other protected classes of people. We expect all participants and speakers in AEG virtual meetings and events to help ensure a safe and positive experience for everyone. Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated during any portion of a meeting or event.​

  • At the sole discretion of AEG, unacceptable behavior includes:

    • Intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory, or demeaning speech or actions.

    • Harmful or prejudicial verbal or written comments or visual images related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, disability, or other personal characteristics, including those protected by law.

    • Inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images.

    • Real or implied threat of professional or financial damage or harm.

    • Disruption of meetings or events deemed to be inappropriate by the organizer.

    • Photographing, video or audio recording of slides, oral or poster presentations without permission from the presenter, author’s, or where relevant, the AEG.

    • Violating the rules and regulations of the online platform.

  • At the sole discretion of AEG and the event organizers the consequences of misconduct may include:

    • Immediate removal from a meeting or an event without warning.

  • In addition, at the sole discretion of the Board of Directors of AEG, the consequences of misconduct may include: ​

    • Restrictions from future AEG meetings and events.

    • Termination of AEG membership or positions in accordance with AEG’s Operational Policies.

 

FAKE WEBSITES/SCAMS

AEG is aware of other websites with misleading information on our Virtual Karst Hazards Forum. These are not legitimate websites, and should be avoided. Always be sure you are on the official website before giving out information. Please know we have not had a data breach. These companies keep contacting a wide range of people until they eventually get to someone who responds.  Please do not engage with, purchase or click on any links that look suspicious. If you receive a solicitation from a third party or from any person or business that claims to be an authorized vendor or makes it seem as though they are affiliated with AEG, we ask that you forward the information on to manager@aegweb.org.
